  1. For long-distance transportation, use wooden boxes or wicker baskets to properly package, and use soft materials such as straw or sawdust to separate the abrasive tools. Avoid collisions and impacts when handling, and stack them securely.

 

  1. Do not place ceramic abrasives in damp or frozen places; rubber abrasives should not be in contact with oil; resin abrasives should not be in contact with alkali, otherwise the strength and grinding ability of the abrasives will be reduced.

 

  1. Abrasive tools should be stored in a dust-proof, moisture-proof, dry and ventilated warehouse. The relative humidity should be controlled at 65%-70%. The room temperature should not be lower than 5°C. It should not be mixed with oil, salt, acid, alkali and harmful gas and should not be stored with them in the same warehouse.

 

  1. Abrasive tools should be placed separately according to specifications, and the storage place should be marked to avoid confusion and errors.

 

  1. The placement position and setting method should be determined by the shape and size of the abrasive tool. Larger diameter or thickness grinding wheels should be placed upright or slightly inclined. Thinner and smaller grinding wheels should be placed flat, but the height should not exceed 500~600mm. The stacking height of rubber or resin flake grinding wheels should be less than 200mm, and a flat iron plate should be placed on top and bottom to prevent the grinding wheel from deforming or breaking. Small diameter grinding wheels (below 50mm) can be tied up with ropes for storage. Special-shaped grinding wheels such as bowl, cup and saucer should be stacked one by one with the bottom facing down, but the height should not be too high.

Stacking thatch pad: For thicker grinding wheels with a diameter of 350mm or more, they can be placed upright on the shelf without overlapping stacking; for smaller or thinner grinding wheels, they should be placed flat on a flat backing plate. The height shall not exceed 1m (resin, rubber combined grinding wheel, the stack height shall not exceed 0.5m). Grinding wheels with a diameter of less than 25mm can be tied up with rope or packed in cartons for storage; for fine-grained, soft, thin, and sharp-edged grinding wheels, cardboards should be stacked on the shelf on each layer.

 

  1. Both rubber and resin have “aging” phenomenon, so the storage period of abrasive tools of these two types of bonding agents should generally not exceed one year.   1. Maintenance: Insist on roving inspections. If the emery cloth and sandpaper are found to be damp, they should be opened and dried one by one, and not exposed to the sun or baked.
