  1. Collect your supplies. Before you start cutting stones, make sure you have collected all the appropriate items.
You will need a chisel and an electric grinder with a diamond cutting blade to cut the stone. If your project is small, it may be cheaper to rent a grinder.
You will need a mason’s hammer (these hammers are similar to small octagonal hammers).
You will also need safety equipment. You will need safety glasses, full face mask and hearing protection
  2. Measure how many stones you need. If you want all gems to have the same size, you may already know the size to use. However, you may not be using a specific size. If you need a stone to fit into a specific space on a wall, use a tape measure to measure that space. Before you start cutting, make sure to remember the correct size.Mark where you want to divide the stone. Mark all ways around the stone you want to cut.
  3. Chisel along the “front” along your line. The front of the stone is the side that will face outward on the wall. The chisel will be cleaner than sanding, and you will want to make the face more evenly polished as this will make the look smoother. Start cutting on the face with a chisel and sledgehammer. Wear goggles before you start using a hammer and chisel. This will cause sharp debris to fly.
Pick up the chisel, place it vertically on the stone, and align the best stone cutting discs of the chisel at the line to be cut. Pick up the sledgehammer and hit hard on the end of the chisel, drawing three or four small marks along the line on the stone, about an inch apart. Then, hit the chisel again with a sledgehammer to fill the space between these marks.
Continue working on the thread until you have a groove on the entire side. Use a single solid tap on a chisel with a sledgehammer to work back and forth on the production line.
  4. Put on a mask and protect your hearing. The next step involves the use of electric grinders. For your own safety, make sure you wear safety glasses, hearing protection and a mask before you start using the abrasive tools. At this point, small debris may fly away from the stone, and noise from the grinding tool can cause hearing loss.Use a grinder to cut the wire on the other side. Rotate the stone so that the other side is facing up.
Use a grinder to cut a straight line on one side of the stone. Cut several times until you have a small dent. Go slowly to ensure that the line is cut evenly across the stone.
Turn the stone over and repeat the process on the other side of the stone. Then, turn the stone over again. You should repeat this process on all sides of the stone except the sides until you have good grooves on all sides of the stone.
  5. Use a chisel to cut the stone. Once all sides of the stone have been cut with a chisel or grinder, the cut is complete.
Starting from the face, use a hammer to hit the grooves along the face for 3-4 good blows.
Rotate to the next face and repeat.
Continue this process (it may take a while) until the stones break.

Carving Shapes or Curves Into Stone

  1. Collect your tools. If you want to sculpt the stone into the shape of the project, or sculpt the curve into stone, you can also choose. First, you need to collect some tools. The process of sculpting and shaping the stone is more refined.
You will need a set of chisels that include the following types of chisels: large and heavy chisels, pointed chisels, claw chisels, flat chisels and files. Chisel sets are available online and in most hardware stores, but they are expensive. A set may cost up to $ 100.
During the plastic surgery, you will need to wear dust masks and goggles.
Leather gloves are a good idea because your hands may feel sore when carving.
  2. Draw the shape you plan to sculpt. First, draw the shape of the object you want to sculpt. This can help guide you through the process. You may be making beautiful shapes, such as flowers, or just making curved corners or tiles for larger projects. Anyway, draw a rough drawing of the shape.
  3. Choose a stone that is close to the shape you want. You can use the stone you find or the stone board you bought at your hardware store for your project. When choosing a gem to use, especially when you find a gem, you need to choose an object that approximates the shape you want. For example, if the edge of a stone is curved, this is a good choice for cutting out curved corners. This will reduce your workload as you shape the stone.
  4. Draw a design on the stone itself. From here, draw your design on the stone itself. If you want to sculpt a curve, draw the direction and shape of the curve along the edges of the stone. If you want to draw strange shapes (such as flowers), draw shapes of petals, buds, etc. on the stone. You can paint on the stone with a marker or pencil.
  5. Use a large, heavy chisel to outline the rough shape. You are now ready to take shape. Start using your largest and heaviest chisel. You will use it to sculpt the rough shape of the stone. In the process, if the stone doesn’t look like the shape you want, don’t worry. You will go through several different engravings, and you just want to get a very rough outline here.
Scrape the chisel along the stone and carve it into the desired rough shape. Sculpt along the edges of the drawings you make. Be sure to wear safety goggles as some debris may fall during this process.
Don’t break large stones. Instead, take out a small stone at a time. Try to make a series of small woods in the stone and embed small pieces of stone in it. You will delete these lines later using other tools. A large chisel may be rough on the stone, not fine enough to remove such lines.
  6. Use a sharp chisel to make fine lines in the stone. After sculpting the rough outline, grab the pointed chisel. You will use it to further sculpt the shape. By shaving the stone, you will form fine lines on the stone. These lines will be flattened later with your claw chisel.
You should keep the claw chisel at a 45-degree angle. However, the angle is slightly different depending on the roughness of the stone. For particularly rough stones, you may have to tilt larger angles when scraping along a chisel.
Once again, go slowly. Keep in mind that it will take some time for your stone to actually begin to take shape. Draw a series of thin lines on the stone along the outside of the shape you want to sculpt. Make about 1 to 1 inch and a half inches of wire. Then, make crosshatch patterns by drawing lines in other ways. This will flatten the stone and produce small bumps that can be removed with a claw chisel.
Your stone should look like the shape you want, but the outside of the shape will be bumpy.
  7. Use a claw to refine the shape. From here, you can use a claw chisel to smooth these ridges to improve the shape. Gently tap or scrape the bumps and lines with a claw chisel to remove the lines and bumps. The bumps should come off easily. Continue working until most of the bumps and lines created by the previous chisel have been eliminated. However, during this process, your paw chisel may create some lines and cracks. It’s ok. Remove it with a flat chisel.
  8. Remove the wire with a flat chisel. Your stone should really begin to take shape here. It should look most like the shape you want, except that the edges are a bit rough. You can now pick up the flat chisel. Gently scrape the chisel along the stone to remove any lines or bumps from the claw chisel. The edges of the flat chisel are flatter, so any lines created here are less noticeable and can be eliminated later.
  9. Carve out loose stones and soften the edges with a file. You may now have some loose stones and rough edges on your shape. Pick up your file and rub it on the stone. Align any sharp edges, rub them until soft, and look for any loose stones or pebbles embedded in the stones. These can be gently removed with the file.

Take Safety Precautions When use Best Stone Cutting Discs

  1. Use goggles. When working with stone, you should wear a safety chain. You can buy goggles at your local hardware store. Safety goggles will help protect your eyes from crushed stones, which may fly off your body when you gouge.
  2. Please read the instructions for the product you are using. You should know the materials used. When you buy stone, safety instructions are usually included. Often, safety instructions for tools are also used in hardware stores. Don’t ignore these rules.
  3. Dress safely. When cutting stones, make sure to dress in a way that helps prevent accidents. Before you start cutting your stone, take some basic safety precautions.
Before starting work, remove all jewelry. If you have long hair, pull it back to the ponytail.
Avoid shorts, as the trousers protect you from debris that may fly off the body when cutting.
  4. Work in a clean, well-lit space. It’s safe where you work. Make sure you work in a clean and well-lit space. If an area is full of debris, you may trip over and hurt yourself. You also want to make sure you have enough lighting so you can see what you are doing.

Choose the Right Stone

  1. Determine whether you are using stone for commercial or domestic purposes. When determining the type of stone, you must decide on the type of stone. A major factor in the decision-making process is whether your project is for business or home use.
Commercial use means a lot of traffic on your stone. For example, stone used on the sidewalk or on the floor of a shopping mall would be a commercial use. You should buy heavier and stronger stones. Avoid using limestone (stone commonly used in DIY projects).
Home use is stone and can be used privately at home. For example, the stone counter will be domestic. You can use softer, cheaper stones for home projects. Stone types such as granite or other natural stones work well.
  2. Stick to stones in the price range. You may not always find your first choice on the stone. Depending on your area, some types of stone may have to be shipped to a supplier. This can become expensive. Make a note of the various types of stones you can use, and then contact your local supplier to see which stones are available. Stones can be very expensive, so they are willing to work within budget.
  3. Use stones that do not require finishing. Many types of stone may require special finishing procedures. If your stone type is particularly slippery, for example, it may need to be sanded, polished, and burned. These types of projects take a lot of time and money and require professional help. Investigate a stone that does not require many special modifications.
